Paratici dismisses Juve’s interest in Sassuolo players

Juventus managing director Fabio Paratici dismisses rumors of interest in Sassuolo players.

According to reports, Juventus have eyes on Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli and striker Gianluca Scamacca. But Paratici says there is no emergency and Juventus will evaluate opportunities on the market.

“We play every game to win, to improve and hopefully to get three points. As we said in recent weeks, that’s what we are here for, to get stronger, and then we’ll look at the table in March or April,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.

“This is a different season to the others and it became evident towards the end of last term too. Playing every three days, without fans, there are going to be some ups and downs. Players are not machines, they need to create the intensity within themselves when there’s no crowd, it’s unusual for everyone.”

Locatelli’s agent claimed that Juventus wanted to sign the former Milan midfielder but Paratici shrugs off the interest.

“We are very happy with the players we have. Locatelli is a very talented Sassuolo player, but if we were to name all the players we admire, we’d be here for hours,” shrugged the director.

The Bianconeri are reported to be aiming for reinforcement in the front line, with sources pointing to Scamacca, currently owned by Sassuolo, and on a loan contract to Genoa.

“As I said, we believe that we have a very competitive squad. So let’s play the games, then we’ll evaluate the situation without rush. There’s no emergency situation, we’ll see if there are opportunities on the market.”
